Event Description

Family historian and Sutton archives volunteer, Colin Angel MBE, began photographing the gravestones in Sutton’s parish churchyard after lockdown. His talk will share insights into the churchyard’s history, prohibitions of most burials on public health grounds in the late 19th century, the removal of many graves to accommodate the present church, and Sutton’s later road layout.
