Event Description

Clive Orton, Emeritus Professor of Quantitative Archaeology has been researching a forgotten mansion in Sutton. His interest in Stanstead was sparked by the loan to Sutton Archives of the illustrated notebook of Violet Field, who lived there at the time of the 1881 Census. He presents a fascinating glimpse into later Victorian life in a wider context: the story of Stanstead from beginning to end.
