Event Description

Nickel Support is delighted to announce the launch of a powerful and thought-provoking art and photography exhibition.

The exhibition showcases striking professional portraits of the adults who attend Nickel Support, taken by local photographer Yani Yordanova from Nova Photo Atelier. The portraits show trainees how they feel strongest, most confident, and most like themselves, revealing the real people behind the disability. The exhibition aims to challenge societal perceptions of learning disability, offering a personal insight into lives and identities often overlooked or misunderstood. In addition to the portraits, the exhibition will display a wonderful selection of artwork created by our trainees in an art project with local artists Kate Marsden and Jo Sharpe. Huge thanks to Arts Network Sutton who funded this project.

The exhibition runs from 4 October 2025 to 10 January 2026 during Whitehall Historic House’s opening hours. Please check opening times before your visit: https://libraries.sutton.gov.uk/digital-content/sutton-heritage/whitehall-historic-house
