Event Description

Take a gentle walk through the Farmlands to discover many plants you’d expect to see and others that surprise and delight us.

Join the Beddington Farmlands Bird Group and the Farmland Warden for a day of events - The Beddington Big Day. This botanical stroll is the third of six site tours celebrating the biodiversity of this unique London Nature Reserve. We will teach you the very basics of plant ID and take a look at species planted on site, and others that have found their own niche in this post-industrial landfill.

Beddington Farmlands is a ‘work in progress’ so attendees must be confident on their feet and wear sturdy shoes as the terrain is uneven and broken in many places. Pumps, flip flops etc will be turned away. It can get cold at the top so dress warmly and appropriately for the weather conditions. No facilities, No under 18s.

The meeting location will be Mile Road Gate at the mid point of the Farmlands Permissive Path - ///spray.park.spider. Do not head to the Beddington Park Pavillion.
