Event Description

As part of SPINE Festival 2026, we’re delighted to invite you to a live and interactive Poetry and Animation Workshop on the theme of ‘Magic & Imagination’. Led by Children's Poet, Shagufta K Iqbal, and Illustrator/ Animator, Nancy Ellis, your children will experience the magic of the spoken word and enjoy making a very special animation as part of a very special group experience!

Each Workshop Includes:
● Poetry Writing - Using fun language and poetry techniques to create mythical poetry
monsters!
● Illustration - drawing, colouring in and cutting your allocated poetry, props or
monster parts!
● Animation - Bringing all of the elements together by the magic of stop motion
animation, to create a Magical Monster Movie!

All participants will be able to contribute their poetry ideas, illustrate their allocated monster parts, and help bring it all together in an animated movie which we will all be able to enjoy
watching at the end of the session. 

A video file of the finished movie will be uploaded to the library socials for enjoyment and viewing at home.

All equipment will be provided, just bring along tons of energy and enthusiasm!
