Event Description
Join local artist Claire Chandler and get creative starting with a simple tear of the paper or tea cup stain. The activity is suitable for all ages, abilities and backgrounds. Please note, all children must be accompanied by an adult.
The inspiration for this project is the wonderful, inspiring book 'Beautiful Oops' by Barney Salzberg.
On every page there is a tear or a spill, a blot or a folded corner - all of which are turned into an array of exciting creatures, animals and cartoons with a bit of imagination, some pens, pencils and paint!
So change how you view 'mistakes' and spend a little time producing your own piece of art, culminating in a beautiful, colourful and inspiring artwork to take home.
Beautiful Oops! Champions imagination, play, and the courage to express oneself. It's about self-forgiveness, turning off that inner critic that clamours for perfection. And it's about freedom--the freedom to be creative and follow your curiosity wherever it goes.
